Coach Carter has coach for over 30 years at BHS and has assisted hundreds of athletes to college careers.

LENNY CELLURO - Class of '81

BHS: running back and defensive back, All-NNJIL and All-Essex County teams. He continued his playing career at Fairleigh Dickenson University. Coach Len, as he is known to his former players, was a part of Coach Carter’s staff at BHS for 13 years.

 

MARK GATTO - Class of '92

Bloomfield High School: Three year letter winner and Captain.
Linebacker/Guard. Mark earned All-League, All-Area and All-County honors at linebacker

Rutgers University: One year as Linebacker.
Montclair State University: four-year starter at linebacker and team captain. Mark earned All-Conference honors while at MSU and holds various individual season and career records at MSU.Today Mark is the Co-President, Co-CEO, and Director of ICON Investments. Prior to purchasing the company in 2008, Mark held various positions in the firm including, Executive Vice President and Chief Acquisitions Officer, Executive Vice President - Business Development and Associate General Counsel.

Mr. Gatto received an M.B.A from the W. Paul Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University, a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, and a B.S. from Montclair State University.Mark lives in New York City with his wife, Michela and daughter, Gaia Joannne.

CHRIS O’LEARY - Class of '92

Bloomfield H.S. 1992 Captain – 3rd team All-State - 1st team All county

Fordham University – 1992 -1996 - 4 year letter winner 3 year starter

Team Captain Sr. – 1st team all Patriot League as Strong Safety

Jr. – 1st Team All Patriot League as Strong Safety

Soph – 2nd team All Patriot League as Strong Safety

NFL EUROPE: Hildeshem Invaders of Germany as Free/Strong Safety – Voted team MVP 1998

Lehman Brothers for 10 years up until the collapse in 2008. Chris is now working for BGC Partners on the Government Bond Trading Desk in NYC.

 

ANTHONY GRIECO - Class of '94

Bloomfield High School Football- (4 letters, 3 year starter).

College Football at Monmouth University (Division 1-AA) 4 year letter-winner in Middle Linebacker (94'-97').

Roxbury High School- 1999, 2000, and 2001 (Linebackers/Assistant Defensive Coordinator)

Bloomfield High School- 2002 and 2003 (Linebackers/Defensive Coordinator).

Anthony has worked in public school administration since 2003-2004 as an Assistant Principal, Athletic Director, Director of Special Services.

STEPHEN GANGI - Class of '94

BHS: Tight End: Three Year Letter Winner

University of Maine: Tight End, Four Year Letter Winner

Works for the state of NJ as a NJ State Trooper


 

MICHAEL GOULD - Class of '94

Scholarship athlete

Started two years at Lackawanna junior college ‘94 and ‘95

Started ‘96 at American International College

Tuff break tore acl twice once in ‘97, and ‘98 career over

BS: Criminal Justice, minor in Psychology & Sociology

Works for the state of NJ as a NJ State Trooper

MA in criminal justice in
2000 and I graduated with the BS in 1998

JASON BRATCHER - Class of '95

Bloomfield High School: MLB/ RB. Earned 3rd team All- State honors 

Selected to participate in the 1st Annual Paul Roberson All-Star Game.

Montclair State University: 1995-1999. Jason finished his career with more than 180 tackles, 12 interceptions and 30 pass break-ups. Jason participated in the Pride Bowl, one appearance in the ECAC Championship game. MSU: first team All- NJAC, second team All- ECAC and was selected as Gazette Football All East Honors. Jason was voted by his teammates as Defensive MVP his senior year. Coaching Experience: Montclair State University / Kean University: Coached Defensive Backs

JASON TAGGART - Class of '96

Bloomfield High School: Oline/DT; Co-Captain, All-Area, All-League, All-County

Montclair State University: 1997 NJAC Defensive Rookie of the Year, 3 Time All NJAC Team,

1998 ECAC Champions,1999 NJAC Champions,1999 National Quarterfinalists,2000 Arena League

Jason currently teaches and coaches at BHS.

 

WILLIAM WHITT III - Class of '96

Bloomfield High School: outside linebacker, defensive end, and running back. Essex County Touch Football League and the Bergen County Football League for the past 14 years, part of 3 championship teams. Will had started his own team in the ECTFL and was able to coach his team to be one of the top teams in 4 short years. He remains active participating in many football tournaments throughout the state during the year. Will played semi-pro football for the Brooklyn Mariners for 3 years.  In his second year, he was selected to play in the Garden State Semi-Pro All-Star game. During his 3 years there, the team won 2 championships. Will actively participates in supporting local political campaigns, working to better the town for our youth. He is a strong supporter of keeping children active, motivated, and off the streets.  Will was a  Head Coach for the William Foley Football sixth grade team for three years.

BHS: Rushed for over 2,000 yards in Bloomfield HS Football Career

Captain of  2005 D3 National Champion’s Mount Union Purple Raiders

Kean University Graduate, Currently teaching at Bloomfield Middle School.

 

 EDWARD PETERS - Class of '04

Southern Connecticut State University '08

In HS 2 times all NNJIL at Tackle, All County, 2 time All-Area, 2-time All-Quad Town, Team Captain '04

Beat Montclair twice

2nd generation football player at Bloomfield, father was starting tackle on '73 state championship team.

Played: 2005-2008- Redshirt: 2004

2007- Started all games at center, help break single game NCAA rushing record, named all conference, all ECAC, all region

2008- Team Captain, Started all games at center, named all conference, All ECAC, 1st All Region by All Service, All-American, North East 10-Lineman of the Year, All New England Div 2/3

Named Offensive Lineman of the decade by SCSU and 1st team center on All Decade Team

NCAA Div 2 National Playoff Appearance for 4 years, 05-08, winning 1st playoff game in school history in 07, Graduated with a BS in History

Coach: Wilby HS in 2009 in Waterbury, CT

SAID GAIDA - Class of '06  

BHS: Three Varsity Letters, 2 twp-time Captain- had over 120 tackles and 3 forced fumbles his senior year. Hofstra University: Varsity Letter Winner and Academic All-Conference 2008-2009

Graduated in 2010 with a BBA in Management and is currently working for Enterprise Holdings.

 

MARC POLYNICE - Class of '07

BHS: Three year started/ letter winner, All-Area, All-League. Four time Varsity letter winner in track & field, All-Area, placed in the county 3 out of 4 years.

Marc started off his football career playing for William Foley Football.

Lackawanna College: two years- Received an Associates degree in Business Marketing.

Northwestern Oklahoma State: Athletic Scholarship. Played one season there and transferred to Kean University Marc is going to graduate next year with a Physical Education & Health Science Major.  

Son of Marie & Jean Polynice, brother of Tamar Polynice and Widney Polynice, whom both also graduate from Bloomfield High School.  Tamar is current playing basketball and lacrosse, at University of Trinity Washington in Washington D.C. Where this past season lead the NCAA in steal per game with 5.8.

 

ERWIN ROACH - Class of '08

Position: Defensive Line

Year: Sophomore

Hometown: Bloomfield, N.J.

High School: Bloomfield High School/ Fork Union Military Academy

2009: Played in four games . . . assisted on three tackles . . . made a tackle against No. 1 Richmond (10/17), No. 19 Massachusetts (10/31) and against Rhode Island (11/14).  BEFORE MAINE/PERSONAL: Played offensive tackle and defensive end at Bloomfield H.S. and served as a captain, helped guide Bloomfield to back-to-back conference titles, was named a Tri-State D-Line MVP,  earned all-conference and all-county honors on the defensive front.

Two Time-All League Football

10 Varsity Letters- 4 sports in at BHS; Football, Basketball, Track, Wrestling

Played in the Governors Bowl All-Star Classic NJ vs. NY
